Granada city is a capital of the province of Granada, in Andalusia, Spain. It is located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains, at the confluence of three rivers, at an elevation of 738 metres above sea level.

The Alhambra, a Moorish citadel and palace, is in Granada. It is the most renowned building of the Andalusian Islamic historical legacy with its many cultural attractions that make Granada a very popular touristic destination. The Almohad influence on architecture is preserved in the district of The Albaicín.

THE ALHAMBRA

GRANADA CATHEDRAL

The construction of this cathedral had to await the acquisition of the Nasrid kingdom of Granada (1492).
While its very early plans had Gothic designs, such as are evident in the Royal Chapel, the construction of the church in the main occurred at a time when Spanish Renaissance.

LA CARTUJA MONASTERY

La Cartuja Monastery (or Charterhouse) is one of the finest examples of Spanish Baroque architecture.
The construction started in 1516, and continued for the following 300 years. While the exterior is a tame ember in comparison, the interior of the monastery's is a flamboyant explosion of ornamentation.

ROYAL CHAPEL OF GRANADA

The Royal Chapel of Granada is a mausoleum. It is united and connected with other important buildings as the Lonja and the Catedral. It was built over the former solar of the Great Mosque.

DE LOS TIROS HOUSE

This house belonged to the Granada Venegas family. Their arms appear on the façade and inside the building, as does their motto: "The heart rules". Its outward appearance is of a fortress.

The most beautiful room of the house is the Golden Stable, with busts of Spanish kings. We should highlight the polychrome decoration of its ceiling. The Museum Archives is dedicated to the Popular Art: pictures, furniture, engravings, drawings, lithograph and a collection of photographs of the city and its monuments.

SCIENCE PARK MUSEUM

The Science Park is an interactive museum where visitors are invited to take part actively in order to understand the phenomena that surround us.

The museum is divided into five areas. Universe, Biosphere, Eureka, Perception and Explore. Different activities allow you to see physical phenomena for yourself, such as momentum, gravity or the Archimedes principle.
